I just had to tell ya how well Erie is doing with actual hunting. This boy is a beast in the blind. Not only is he driven, but he's also very good at calming down and just being chill ( key factor in our hunting lol lots of down time).
I took Erie out on our opening day hunt for goose and teal. Man did this boy impress. At 5 months (even though he's a big pup - 75lbs). He wasn't scared of the geese like most young dogs are. He barreled out there and grabbed a hold of whatever he could to drag them back to us! Even with a couple of cripples we got, they'd hiss and try to bite at him Erie boy didn't care. He was tenacious about getting me a bird...It was truly a sight to see! We ended up with a nice pile of birds and for his first hunt :) and he must of brought some luck cuz we got 2 bands also. He's been out duck and goose hunting, dove hunting. He has flushed and retrieved 2 pheasants for us!
I'm more than happy with my pup! I couldn't had asked for a better dog. I cant wait to see what the future holds for him....Hopefully lots of birds and ribbons!
